Lowri Davies - Sugar Bowl
Lowri Davies’ welsh heritage is a major source of inspiration. Vibrant illustrations of birds, traditional landscapes, floral and fauna adorn her own distinct slip-cast bone china tableware that includes tea sets, vessels and vases. In Lowri’s series, delicate drawings of birds decorate both the exterior and interior of cups, jugs and bowls which are tinted with the reminiscent eggshell colours of white, pale blue and yellow.
Lowri has a degree in Ceramics and a post-graduate degree in Ceramic Design. In 2001 she was the recipient of a Young Artist Scholarship at the National Eisteddfod and was awarded the Gold Medal in Craft and Design at the Eisteddfod in 2009. Her work has been shown throughout Britain and at SOFA, Chicago with Ruthin Craft Centre. She has won several awards and commissions including creating a collection for the National Library of Wales based on artefacts in their archive.
